Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 17, 2025
Achtsamkeit & Meer GmbH is a Limited Liability Company (Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung, GmbH) under Swiss law. This privacy policy will explain how our organization uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website https://www.anchor-easy.com and our Anchor Easy app (“the app”).
What data do we collect?
Our Company collects the following data:
- Device and Usage Data: We collect information that your device sends when you use our app. This includes your device’s manufacturer, model, and operating system version. We also collect data on app events, such as when an anchor is set, an alarm is triggered, and the GPS coordinates around the time of these events.
- Purchase Information: To manage premium features, we process information about your subscriptions through our service provider, RevenueCat.
- Anonymized Analytics: We use services like Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymized data about app usage and performance. This helps us identify crashes and improve the user experience.
How do we collect your data?
You directly provide our Company with most of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:
- Use the app’s features, which generates event and location data that is automatically sent to our secure backend (provided by Google Firebase).
- Make a purchase, which is processed via RevenueCat through the relevant app store.
How will we use your data?
Our Company collects your data so that we can:
- Provide the functionality to view your boat and anchor position from a secondary, remote device.
- Enable you to view your previous anchor positions.
- Provide access to the premium functionality within the app.
- Improve our service by analyzing aggregated and anonymized data. We use event data (like alarm conditions and GPS positions) and device properties (like manufacturer and OS) to understand usage patterns in an aggregated, anonymous form. This allows us to identify trends (for example, which conditions lead to more frequent alarms) so that we can make the app more reliable and provide better recommendations in the future. Your personal identity is not used for this statistical analysis.
- Compute app analytics.
What is our legal basis for processing?
We process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a Contract: Much of the data we collect is necessary to provide the services you have requested. This includes using your app data (like GPS positions and alarm settings) to provide the core functionality of the app, such as remote viewing of your boat’s position and viewing your anchor history. This also includes processing purchase information to grant you access to premium features.
- Legitimate Interest: We process some data based on our legitimate interest in improving our services and ensuring the app functions correctly. This is the basis for using anonymized data to compute statistics and learn about usage patterns (for example, how device type or environmental factors relate to app events) to make future improvements. We have balanced our interest in improving the app against your data protection rights and have taken steps, such as anonymization where possible, to protect your privacy.
- Consent: For any future processing activities that are not covered by Performance of a Contract or Legitimate Interest, we will ask for your explicit consent before collecting or using your data for that new purpose.
How do we store your data?
Your subscription data is stored securely on the servers of our service providers, RevenueCat. We will keep your subscription data while your subscription is active.
Your device and usage data is stored securely on the servers of our service provider Google (Firebase), in Belgium. We store your device and usage data for as long as you use our app to provide you with features like your anchor position history. You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data, which will delete your user-identifiable information from our systems. Data that has been anonymized and aggregated for statistical purposes may be kept indefinitely, as it can no longer be used to identify you.
International Data Transfers
Your data is stored on the servers of our service providers, which may be located outside of Switzerland and the European Union. Specifically, Google (Firebase) and RevenueCat are US-based companies. These providers comply with data protection frameworks like the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which ensures that your data is handled with a level of protection equivalent to that required by GDPR.
Marketing
We do not use your data for any marketing activities.
